CHAPTER 1
Snake
“You about ready to go, Tinkerbell?”
Summer’s behind the counter in her coffee shop, The Magic Bean, the shop is right next door to Inked, the tattoo shop I work at. The one owned by her boyfriend, Rocco “Rock” Silva, my blood brother.
My name is Samuel “Snake” Priest, and I’m her lover.
Too.
I bet you’re wondering if he knows about it.
I bet you’re wondering if Rock approves of it.
I bet you’re wondering if we all fuck together.
Hah!
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Why, you ask?
How, you ask?
When, you ask?
That is what you’re thinking, right?
Because that’s how we want it.
Any goddamn way we can.
Any fucking time we please.
Okay, yeah, I’m being an arrogant prick, sorry. But things go way back, way before Summer. Shit, I’m not entirely sure when the beginning exactly was, but I do know it was before the four of us guys…what? Four you ask? You thought there were only two, me and Rock? Well, yeah, in our relationship there are three, (fuck, did I just say me, Rock, and Summer are in a relationship? Yeah, I guess I did, and we are…sort of). I suppose it started when us guys, me, Rock, Bull, and Gringo were in the army together.
Oh yeah, you might not know the other guys. Bull and Gringo are also technicians at Inked, we served together, got out together, then became affiliated with The Program together.
What’s The Program? What do you want me to tell you about, the three of us fucking, or The Program? Make up your mind.
I thought so.
When the four of us guys were in the army, we became tight, really fucking close. The most important person in the whole goddamn world is the man right beside you. Shit like that NEVER goes away. With the things we saw and did, the hell we walked through every fucking day for years, you need that one person that still sees, that still knows, and above all else, can still recognize the soul within you.
We were that for each other.
Still are.
But there are things I’ve only ever told Rock, and there are evils he’s only ever shared with me.
So, if I’d have to pinpoint a beginning, it was that night after the first time I had to kill a child. Don’t ask me how many, some ghosts are better left undisturbed. That night I broke down, it destroyed me, I’d wanted to kill myself, torture myself gruesomely, a life for a life. Rock stopped me, and I punched him in his fucking face, I’d hated him for that. It turned into an all-out brawl, until he pinned me down and I collapsed and sobbed. He was there for me that night, after I finally stopped fighting. He helped me to forgive myself. Ever since then, we never allowed any bullshit between us, between any of us, it’s real, raw, and honest. There are no games, no false pretenses, no shows or facades. We play it like it is, all of us, together.
Even if that’s sharing a woman.
Especially if it’s sharing a woman.
We want the same thing; we want what’s best for each other.
That’s honesty, that’s truth, that’s fucking intimacy.
We love each other.
We can share another honestly. Openly. Unabashedly.
“Just about,” Summer mumbles distractedly and I grin at her.
I’ve got a hip leaned against the counter as I watch her, my motorcycle key circling around one of my fingers.
“Do you know what’s going on with Rock, Snake? He sounded a little off,” she turns her eyes to me as her eyebrows pull together and she worries her lip.
Yeah, I know, but I’m not telling you.
The corner of my lip tugs up in a smirk before I can stop it.
“Maybe,” I reply slowly.
Summer plants her hands on her hips and cocks her head at me.
“You know, don’t you? I can see it all over your face.”
I clutch the key in my palm, push off the counter, and meet her behind it. She follows me with her eyes as I go, and when I’m standing next to her, I say, “I might.”
“Snake Priest,” my mom is the only one who calls me that, “you know, and you’d better tell me,” she lays a palm on my chest.
“Oh really?” I grin. “Why would I do that? That would take all the fun out of it.”
She fights her smile as she tries to shove me. I don’t budge.
“That is just cruel, sir. He’s acting like I’m in trouble.”
“That’s because you are.”
Her eyes widen. There’s a little fear and a touch of confusion.
“Why? What did I do?”
I shake my head slowly side to side and grin broadly at her, “Tsk, tsk, Tinkerbell. You know as well as me and Rock that you’re always up to something. What you should be asking is which are you in trouble for now?”
“That’s not fair, it’s two against one,” she argues playfully, trying to push me away from her again.
I capture her wrist in one of my hands and palm her sex with the other.
“Last I saw, you liked it that way,” her hips jerk into my touch, “a lot.” Grinding the heel of my palm against her clit, I bring my face an inch closer to hers and whisper. “What was it you were begging for?”
Her lips part and a blush creeps across her pretty face. That fear and confusion is now swirling with lust. She ci
rcles her hips onto my hand and whispers, “Fuck me.”
“That’s right,” I open her pants.
Her free hand slides down my front to slip into my own jeans to wrap her hand around my swelling cock. She clenches it and her touch pulls all the blood from my body straight to my dick.
“Fuck,” I hiss.
I shove mine into her gaping pants while still holding her firmly by her wrist. There’s nothing gentle about my touch. It’s demanding and forceful. She’s supposed to be in trouble.
“In the beginning, Rock thought you would be afraid. I tried to tell him he was wrong, but he wouldn’t listen,” I tell her quietly, my finger thrusting into her heat.
“How’d you know, Snake?” she pants.
Like a switch, we’re both ready to rip our clothes off and fuck each other like savages.
“One hungry soul recognizes another, Tinkerbell. We feel it,” I slide my finger to tease her clit. “Look at how wet you are.”
She tightens her grip, squeezing my now very hard shaft, as she rides my hand.
“I felt it too when I looked at you. There was always something there. You always made me feel calm and relaxed, that you knew me,” she breathes out as her eyelids dip.
I tease that sensitive little clit of hers. “That still isn’t going to make me tell you what’s up,” I grin devilishly at her as I watch her expression change from one of need to frustration.
“You do not play fair,” she complains as she pulls her hands free from my grip and from my pants.
I laugh at her as I leave that sweet place between her legs and fix her clothing. “Nope, now get your shit together before you’re in more trouble. Rock is not a patient man.”
Summer returns to making sure everything’s ready to leave as I suck her wetness from my fingers. She watches me coyly from beneath her lashes as I clean her sweetness from my touch.
“There is nothing for me to be in trouble for. I think he just likes to make things up,” she pouts, but she loves the idea of being in trouble, her eyes twinkle every time we bring it up.
Damn straight he does, but I’m not going to admit that. It’s way too much fun.
We love it as well. It makes her happy. Rock would do anything, any fucking thing in the world for this woman. He may be an ornery son-of-a-bitch on the outside, but this woman right here owns him. He might be the one who tells her to get on her knees and suck him off, he might tell her to bend over and take me in the ass while he watched. The reality is she’s his queen and he’s just her humble servant who worships the ground she walks on.
I adore Summer. I love her, yeah, I want her to be happy, I would give my life for her. I would kill for her without hesitation.
“I think the both of you need to find reasons so you get to dole out punishments,” she continues with her head held high and a smile tugging on her luscious lips.
It is pretty fucking sweet.
“I’m not sure which one was my favorite, Tinkerbell,” I ask as I watch her checking the refrigerators for the tenth time. “Was it the time Rock had you over his lap spanking that sweet ass of yours while I held the vibrator against your clit?”
“Oh my God, Snake,” she moans, “that was so not fair!”
I laugh. That was epic.
“You came so fucking hard, you squirted all over the both us.”
“Just stop, okay,” she turns to me.
She’s breathing heavier and there’s a seductive grin on her face. She remembers it very well.
I do too.
This, what the three of us have, it’s right. I feel like I belong, like we belong together. It’s not just sex and fucking. We love each other. Yeah, the three of us love each other. Not all in the same way, but we do. I’m not gay, Rock’s not gay. A man doesn’t have to be gay to be intimate with another man.
“Do you really want me to stop?” I ask. My voice has grown low and husky as my dick throbs a little bit more. “Is it because you can’t wait for what’s waiting for you? Because you ache so bad for it, it fucking hurts?”
She’s staring into my eyes. I see the hunger there, her need, her ache for what’s coming.
“No,” she finally whispers. “Don’t ever stop, Snake. Never.”
I reach a finger out and scrape it lightly over her nipple, the peak I have no doubt is hard and ready.
That’s a good thing, I think it’s exactly what tonight’s punishment is all about.
“We won’t, Tinkerbell. Never.”
She sucks in a deep breath as her eyes flick shut.
“You know what I think, Snake?” she breathes the question out heavily.
“What?” I drop my hand knowing full well she wants more.
Her eyes open as she angles her face up to mine.
“I think that this, the anticipation of what you two have planned is the worst torture. I think the both of you huddle together and make all these devious plans for me days in advance and enjoy seeing me suffer.”
I drop my head back and laugh.
“Is that so? Then it’s better than me and Rock thought it was.” I turn and leave her behind the counter. “Now hurry up and go through all that shit you do for the hundredth time and let’s get out of here, Tinkerbell. You know you’re going to anyway.”
“Fine,” she huffs. “I can’t help it if I’m OCD. I just like to be sure.”
While Summer’s checking the refrigerators again, going to the back of the shop to make sure the back door’s locked again, I pull out my phone and text Rock.
We’re just locking up. Still.
My phone pings immediately with a reply.
How many times?
I grin.
About a fucking hundred.
Another reply. A laughing emoticon.
I chuckle.
You’re such a damn kid.
You’re such an asshole.
I laugh as I shove my phone in the inside pocket of my leather bomber jacket.
“I’m done,” comes Summer’s sing-song voice as she grabs her purse from the counter and meets me by the front door.
“Good, let’s go.” I grab my helmet from the table by the door, take her keys from her, and lock up. As I pull on the door a couple of times, I glance over at her. “Good?” I ask, and smirk.
“Don’t be mean,” she laughs and swats my shoulder.
It’s good to see her like this. Relaxed and not looking over her shoulder constantly, waiting for someone to appear, a ghost from her past, a demon with the Hounds of Hell snarling with blood dripping from their fangs ready to drag her back to hell. She’s not afraid of the past anymore.
She feels safe. She feels like she’s home.
We all do.
I walk her to her bad-ass Challenger, her car does have a nice set of balls. “Meet you at the house, Tinkerbell. I’ll crawl so I don’t lose you.”
“You think you’re all that on that fancy bicycle of yours, don’t you, Snake?” she taunts me.
My BMW S1000RR a fucking bicycle? I don’t think so.
This isn’t the machine that will scare the shit out of you, loud and obnoxious. This is my baby, the only thing that’ll get close to it needs fucking wings.
“You’re in a playful mood tonight, aren’t you?” a slow smile spreads across my face.
Her words dare me to pick up the gauntlet she just dropped.
See, that’s the difference between what me and Summer’s got to what Rock and Summer have.
Where Rock wants to baby her, coddle her, and keep her under lock and key, afraid to let her out so she can spread those inquisitive ballsy wings of hers, I want to push her over the cliff and go over with her.
He’s got every right to, after the shit we saved her from. I want to protect her as well.
But this little birdie wants to fly.
I let her with me right by her side, this is our secret.
“Are you afraid of little me and my, oh, so mundane car?” she goads me.
Rock had our asses the la
st time we did this.
Fuck it, what Rock doesn’t know can’t hurt him.
“Tsk, tsk, Tinkerbell. You see,” I place a hand on the roof of the car boxing her in, “this is exactly the kind of thing that gets you into trouble.”
She smiles that innocent, provocative grin at me, the one that says she’s up to no good and loving every minute of it.
“Funny how you’re always right there with me when I do.”
Hell yes, I am.
Although I might be the lighter one out of me and Rock, I’m fiercely protective as well.
I’ll let this little birdie soar, hell, I’ll shoot her into the fucking stratosphere myself, but there’s no way I’m allowing her to do it on her own.
Things might be calm, but it’s always calmest before a storm. I’m not fucking stupid, none of us are. Summer’s father and the man Summer was arranged to marry might have left quietly, but there is absolutely no doubt in our minds the shit with The Club isn’t over with. When there’s money involved, (Summer’s worth millions), it’s never over. Her pimp father negotiated a business deal, and she was the bargaining chip to seal the merger, her fucking body and life for money. The worst part? She was groomed for her marriage by her upcoming father-in-law, his whore for years before the wedding. Apparently that clause was common place in all transactions for all members of The Club. For an additional fee to the organization of course. The organization was Mr. Hollingsworth, Summer’s father.
Every time I think of that shit, I’m right back in that house where we found Summer when her fiancée kidnapped her. In a split second I had to make a choice: first, do I let Rock gut the scumbag with the knife he was pulling from his pocket? Second, do I rip his fucking throat out with my fingers and watch him die slowly at our feet? Or third, do I incapacitate him and shut down the whole fucking situation?
I shut it down, but there isn’t a day that goes by I don’t envision the piece of filth dying slowly and gruesomely. Sometimes it’s by my bare hands, others it’s by Rock’s. Those images feed the dark, twisted part of me, the part that belongs to The Program, the part each of the four of us have.
